TOEFL: TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE :

TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language is a standardized English proficiency test that assesses English Language skills in the areas of listening, reading, writing and speaking. Candidates desirous of pursuing further studies as undergraduate of graduate levels are required to take TOEFL to demonstrate their English proficiency

TEST FORMAT :

TOEFL has 4 sections, which are Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.

Listening 41 – 57 minutes 28 – 39 questions Listen to lectures, classroom discussions and conversations, then answer questions.

Speaking 17 minutes 4 tasks Express an opinion on a familiar topic,; speak based on reading and listening tasks.
The overall TOEFL score range is 0 to 120, and the score range for each individual exam section is 0 to 30
SCORING :

Each section of TOEFL is graded on a scale of 0 – 30 in 1 point increment. Composite score is addition of all the scores. TOEFL is scored out of 120.80+ is considered a good score:
