Australia is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world, with the world's 12th-largest economy. Australia's national currency is the Australian dollar which comes in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 notes. Coins come in 5, 10, 20 and 50 cent and one and two dollar denominations. In 2012 Australia had the world's fifth-highest per capita income. Australia is a member of the United Nations, G20, Commonwealth of Nations, ANZUS, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Trade Organization, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and the Pacific Islands Forum.
Covering a total area of 7.69 million square kilometres, mainland Australia is the world's largest island - but smallest continent. Australia currently has a population of almost 23 million people, of which more than 80 per cent of residents living within 100 kilometres of the coastline. Most Australians are immigrants or the descendants of immigrants who arrived during the past two hundred years from more than 200 countries thus making the society of rich variety of cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious backgrounds. The most commonly spoken language in Australia is English, and the most commonly practiced religion is Christianity.
Australia has three levels of government – the federal Australian Government, the governments of the six states and two territories, and around 700 local government authorities. It is a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom as its head of state, which is why Australia's national flag comprises the Union Jack (along with the Commonwealth Star and the Southern Cross).
Australia experiences temperate weather for most of the year, December to February is summer; March to May is autumn; June to August is winter; and September to November is spring.

Entry Requirements / Eligibility
Vocational/TAFE :
  ⇒  Anyone with or without relevant experience
  ⇒  Low IELTS band
Undergraduate - Bachelors :
  ⇒  A good academic record in High School Certificate or 12 years of schooling
  ⇒  Some courses such as Computing and Engineering will require Mathematics and /or Science as pre-requisites
